Went go-karting this week, was great!

We had planned to go on the slower carts but when we arrived they were running late and instead of waiting we joined with 2 other people on the high speed karts, we warned them that we would both die, but they said 'no no it will be fine'

well fortunately the high speed carts were capped from the top 85mph to probably around 65mph, which is probably why I\'m still here today.

My girlfriend went off on the first lap straight into a wall of tyres *shakes head* so much for training her up on Forza!

i didn't crash I did however get warned for going too fast round the hairpin (even though I was doing it just fine till he warned me thus distracting me causing me to spin)

I then found out why I was going too fast as I had cooked my breaks after 13 laps so I had to roll in and get a replacement kart, then I cooked them again pretty much after another 13 laps when time ran out.

Had a good lil battle with one of the other drivers, over taking then being overtaken, then getting too carried away and spinning off, I decided to calm it down to save my breaks and for fear I would be called off the track for being too awesome/dangerous

Next time I go I plan on learning how to drift/trail break/lock breaks/etc which could be interesting :-S

Ill make sure everyone is warned beforehand

Afterwards I had pretty much no use of my arms, they were dead, lack of power steering and any kind of forearm muscle meant both of us were rather broken afterward, then my bum really started hurting possibly deep bruising from all the vibrations

:-D

Finished the Flowery dealy
Needs to be viewed at high brightness

I've unknowingly cropped about an inch all the way round by mistake, oops, ah well it looks good for it, just wondering how I could have done it without knowing

:-P

Spent all yesterday crashing, reaching some kind of limit in VRay, maybe even the 4gb RAM limit of 32bit address space, but who knows.

Got my shiny new Harddrive! woop

320gb (300 after formatting boo to that)

no more scrounging for space, however I\'m not going to use it for anything important for a month or so, as if a drive fails it fails in It's first few weeks of life if ever. I'll have to exercise the same caution when I get my new Mac Pro (whenever Apple refresh the line)

I've composed the background render with the previous render of the flowers, so the lighting won't match up and it won't have and shadows, but just to see what it would look like
I'm not liking it at the moment, I\'m hoping that's just because the foreground lighting does'nt gell with the background, but I think I\'m going to have to rethink this.

I think it requires many more vines for it to work, not just 1 spindley one, and I don't think my computer can handle it in a reasonable time frame

Ugh can't get leaves/flowers to look any good

They look all plasticy

This is a bit better

13 Minutes

I may have forgotten to turn on the SKY before rendering this, but all is good it only took 30 minutes

:-)

Now ill be able to compare both the aesthetic improvement and the detriment caused to render time by the HDR lighting

I think I\'m going to remove the whole bottom vine, where It's framing the bottom of the image. It's obstructing too much and it looks like shit cus of the low poly count, I could make it higher poly

Took 35 Minutes, so the HDR sky did'nt add much to the render time at all. I've got some odd black leaves now, and the red vines don't go too well, just makes a big red fuzzy mess.

Dewey: Like Pastor Roy said, how God's so much bigger and wiser than us. And trying to see what he's thinking would be like an ant trying to see what I'm thinking. Teacher: Yes, exactly. But we can trust in his wisdom and we can have faith that he is watching over us. Dewey: Like me with the anthill in my backyard. I spent days watching the ants, trying to figure out which ones were good and which ones were bad. But they all just look like ants. So I started smiting all of them. I was smiting them with the garden hose, and with lighter fluid, and with the lawnmower. And to be perfectly honest, I think I went a little crazy with the shovel. Those ants could have been praying to me all day; I wouldn't have heard 'em. There was nothing they could do about it. Really, It's the same with us. There's nothing we can do about anything, either. So why worry about it? Hey, this is making me feel better. I guess all we can do is live our lives with as much kindness and decency as possible and try not to dwell on God standing over us with that giant shovel. Bye!
